DEAD ISLAND Movie, See How It Might Look Now

DEAD ISLAND Movie, See How It Might Look Now

Funny I just finished the game and was writing my review of the game, DEAD ISLAND, when it was announced that Lionsgate had picked up the option to bring the video game to the big screen. This all started when Deep Silver and Techland released the very depressing trailer that went viral and even won the Golden Lion award at the International Festival For Creativity for advertising.

The film will follow the game where the survivors have to use what is available on the island to survive, but only the natural weapons. The film will also draw inspiration from the trailer and focus more on the human element like THE WALKING DEAD rather than the blood and guts zombie films.

Lionsgate, if done correctly, will have a winner with DEAD ISLAND. The trailer had over ten million hits in two days and the game is selling really well. After playing the game I can't wait to see a film based on it. No word yet if any of the main characters will be in the film, but we will most definitely keep you up to date.

If you don't want to wait for the Lionsgate film why not feast your eyes on this video. It is called REAL LIFE DEAD ISLAND and although I doubt this is how Lionsgate will go, it is a cool take on the game using very familiar elements from the game.

The video is made by the Going Nowhere Show and is really a fun watch. If you played the game you will definitely be into this video. Very good job guys, check out the video.
