NYCC 2011 Saturday - More Indie Horror
Satuday at the NYCC was crazy, the floors were packed full of people. You had a ton of people dressed up as their favorite superhero and other characters. Although I love seeing that it caused so much traffic it got annoying. People stopping people to take pictures, which backs up a already slow moving crowd, but overall Saturday was an experience.
My Saturday mission was to see the entire Con, every single booth and try to catch some panels. Well I did get to see everything on the main floor I had no luck with the panels. The main panel I wanted to go to was the WALKING DEAD panel and I got on line two and a half hours early only to be turned away. The thing with the panels being held at the IGN theater was once you were in you didn't have to leave so everyone who attended the previous panel stayed because the AVENGERS panel was right after the WALKING DEAD.
The other panel that I got into was the John Landis panel, but that one got canceled so I was out of luck with that. I did however enjoy seeing all the booths and picking up some more indie horror. I met a lot of cool people and some did video interviews/ self promotion video to get the word out on their project. I will be putting those up along with my reviews for the comics I picked up throughout the week.
I also got to check out some more video games like DARKNESS II and a new fighting hame SKULL GIRLS. Darkness had a cool setup, the booth looked like a NYC subway station and SKULL GIRLS looked awesome. I will be putting up gameplay video soon. Excuse the blurry pics.

Now on to my pick ups. The first thing I picked up was FRANKIE STEIN because I enjoyed the artwork and its from the creators of BEN 10, who were both there and I figured they'll sign it why not. I read through it and it is a pretty good children's book.

This here was a freebie and it came in a cool looking bag with sticker plus what you see below. It's called FROMBIE and it is a tale of a friendly zombie.

Here we have HARBOR MOON a werewolf story told like a western. It is a thick graphic novel and for only cost $10.00 with a free t-shirt. You can see the artist signature on the cover.

I picked this up for a $1.25. It is a preview to the upcoming series REGENESYS. The artist was drawing the characters in photoshop using this 20 inch WACOM and man was I jealous. We will have a video with the artist explaining the story and showing us how he creates the comic. This was also signed.

Here is a book I can recommend. Not only was the artist a cool guy the comic is great. It has a great sense of humor to go along with cool art. I picked this up for $10.00 and he did a sketch of me as a zombie. We have video of the artist Howie Noel going up soon along with the comic review.

These guys hooked me up with three comics to review and the TWISTED DARK books are thick. They are B&W which I dig and it has an interesting storyline. Look for the review soon.

A zombie story that takes place in my hometown how can I not pick this up. Story is about groips fighting for control of the city as they shack up in the local NY sports areas.

I picked this up because I liked the artwork, but it also has a very new idea for a zombie comic. It deals with a fully aware zombie that is used as a weapon who leads a team of four ancient Chinese warriors, hence the title Z-GIRL AND THE 4 TIGERS. I an trying to get the artist on video to explain the story properly. He also did a sketch in the comic for free.

The last comic I picked up was ZOMBOY a webseries that they made a comic for to spread the word about the webseries. We have the writer on video to explain the concept of the comic which we wil put up soon.

Picked this up for someone. It is a cute little plush vampire baby. She has a bottle of blood to feed on and comes with a collectible pin, plus a collectible card. She is packages in a cardboard coffin. The lady who created VAMPLETS use to product design for Disney and Hasbro. In fact she designed the new MY LITTLE PONY toy line.

I even picked up a horror film. Glass Eye was selling SATAN HATES YOU before the release date and it was signed. We have the trailer to SATAN HATES YOU here and as you can see it looks sick. It stars a bunch of horror vets so I am looking forward to seeing this.

Lastly some swag from DARKNESS II and THE WALKING DEAD. The mask belongs to DARKNESS II and the make your own zombie is courtesy of THE WALKING DEAD.

Tomorrow is the last day for NYCC 2011, I will see what is left to buy indie wise and show you guys tomorrow.

Oh my God! I can't resist the baby vampire, and the disappearing bottle of blood... too funny!!
The baby vampire is actually pretty cute. I think she has a hit with this toy line.
